Tennis Ball Machines Compared: Which One Fits You?
Slinger, Spinshot, Lobster – or the new AI class? Compare them honestly: weight, spin, tracking, drills, app and price. So you don't buy yesterday's machine.
Prices & data as of June 2026 · fair side-by-side · sources at the bottom
We looked, instead of claiming
Ball machines have been around for decades – and most of them still work exactly the way they did back then: they throw balls, nothing more. They don't see you, they don't adapt, and you carry them around like a bag of cement.
We looked at the machines you can actually buy today and laid them out plainly: How heavy are they? What can they do with spin? Do they track you and the ball? How many structured drills do you get? Is there an app – and what does it all cost?
One thing up front, in fairness: Slinger, Spinshot and Lobster are solid, established machines. They do their job. But they come from an era before the camera. Tenniix is the world's first vision-based AI tennis robot – that's a different class, not a better model of the same kind. And that's exactly what the comparison makes visible.
A note on fairness: All competitor data comes from publicly available manufacturer and retailer information (as of June 2026). Prices and weights vary by model variant and bundle – we give ranges where they exist and link the sources. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we'll fix it.
The machines, side by side
Pick what counts for you – we'll highlight the machine that leads there. No sales trick, just honest context. The full table stays visible.

What the table shows
Two numbers stand out. First: Tenniix Pro costs exactly the same as the Slinger T-One bundle – except Pro sees you, tracks your landing spots, simulates an opponent and talks to you, while the Slinger just throws topspin balls. Second: at €899, Tenniix Basic undercuts every serious oscillating machine on the market – at roughly half the weight.
Basic or Pro? Three questions, one clear recommendation.
Both machines share the key specs – 120 km/h, ±5,000 RPM, 100+ balls, up to 4 h battery, 1,000+ drills, 8.5 kg. The difference is the eye: Pro includes the 4K AI Vision module, Basic doesn't (but can be upgraded anytime). Answer three questions.
Count your A and B answers. Mostly A → Tenniix Pro. Mostly B → Tenniix Basic. Mixed → Basic with an upgrade path or Pro right away. All three recommendations are listed below.
Still undecided? Test instead of guessing.
You don't have to decide blind. Rent Tenniix for 7 days at €99 (Basic) or €149 (Pro) – delivered to your door by courier, with the rental fee credited 100% toward purchase (within 30 days). Feel on your own court what a table can never show you.
